Using a unique variety of cutting edge technologies, the Alden March Bioethics Institute (AMBI) reaches more readers with interest in bioethics than any other institution in the world. AMBI produces: The American Journal of Bioethics, the Internet programs of bioethics.net, the bioethics blog, the Bioethics Streaming Media & Film Project, and online Masters of Science in Bioethics and bioethics certificate programs. AMBI faculty and fellows frequently provide analysis and commentary for electronic, print and national broadcast media.

In the past two years, AMBI faculty have coordinated unique national conferences on the pivotal issues in the field, including ethical issues in epidemics (2004) and the ethics of bioethics (2005).

As you can see from our EVENTS CALENDAR, AMBI faculty and fellows are active in New York as well, providing lectures and workshops for attorneys, clergy, clinicians, journalists, judges, patients, scientists, and students of all ages. In partnership with a variety of metro area sponsors, AMBI coordinates bioethics learning opportunities for working professionals. AMBI also sponsors the Beebe Lectureship on clinical issues in medical ethics, which attracts health professionals from around New York. Once every year, AMBI coordinates an Albany metropolitan area "bioethics bash," led by prominent health lawyer Charlotte Buchanan.
